Requirements
  • The candidate must be pursuing or have recently completed a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
  • The candidate must understand software testing fundamentals and software development life cycle/software testing life cycle concepts.
  • The candidate must have basic knowledge of Java or JavaScript programming.
  • The candidate must be familiar with SQL and relational databases.
  • The candidate must understand Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • The candidate must have analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • The candidate must be eager to learn automation testing and quality engineering practices.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing and executing manual test cases based on business and functional requirements.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and smoke testing; report, track, and verify software defects using defect management tools.
  • Support automation testing initiatives using Java, JavaScript, and behavior-driven development frameworks.
  • Contribute to test data preparation and test environment validation.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Work with developers, business analysts, and quality assurance engineers to understand application functionality and quality expectations.
  • Apply quality engineering best practices, including test planning, defect management, and test documentation.
  • Gain exposure to continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines, GitHub, and modern software development workflows.
  • Use AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude to improve productivity, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance test development.
Desired Qualifications
  • The candidate should have exposure to Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar automation tools.
  • The candidate should have a basic understanding of behavior-driven development frameworks such as Cucumber.
  • The candidate should be familiar with Git/GitHub.
  • The candidate should know REST API testing using Postman or similar tools.
  • The candidate should have a basic understanding of continuous integration/continuous delivery concepts and awareness of AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
  • Personal automation projects or a GitHub portfolio are desirable.
  • Participation in hackathons or coding competitions is desirable.
  • Relevant certifications in software testing or automation are desirable.
