Informa H1 2026 trading update: B2B Live Events division posts 8% underlying revenue growth despite IMEA event rescheduling.

Informa H1 2026 trading update: B2B Live Events division posts 8% underlying revenue growth despite IMEA event rescheduling. Company maintains growth momentum despite regional conflict; 90% of full-year exhibitor revenue already secured July 30, 2026 Informa Group CEO Stephen Carter presented the company's results for the first half of 2026 on July 30. Informa reported underlying revenue growth of 6.8% for the first half of 2026, with B2B Live Events delivering 8% underlying growth despite rescheduling more than 15 major brands in the India, Middle Eastand Africa region from H1 to H2, according to Informa's H1 2026 Results Statement released today. The London-based events and information company posted H1 revenues of $2.76 billion, up 1.4% on a reported basis. Adjusted operating profit declined 5.3% to $733 million on a reported basis but grew 6.9% on an underlying basis when adjusted for event timing and non-recurring data contracts. The company reaffirmed its full-year guidance of 6% underlying revenue growth and 7%+ growth for B2B Live Events. Watch highlights of the presentation by Informa Group CEO Stephen Carter here. IMEA impact. Informa rescheduled 15+ brands from H1 to H2 in response to regional conflict, including major properties such as LEAP, Deepfest, Middle East Energy and Middle East Film and ComiCon. The company plans to run 65+ IMEA events with revenue exceeding $1 million in H2, including seven brands in directly impacted markets generating more than $5 million each. Gulfood, WHX Dubai and WHX Labs Dubai ran as scheduled in H1. Notwithstanding the disruption experienced through the first half of 2026, the company continues to see the UAE and Saudi Arabia as major long-term growth opportunities, according to our sources. Division performance for events and exhibitions. Informa Markets posted 10.4% underlying revenue growth in H1, with strength across the Americas, ASEAN, Europe and IMEA markets not directly affected by Iran conflict. The division has secured approximately 90% of full-year exhibitor revenue. Informa Connect reported 5.4% underlying growth, while Informa Festivals grew 1.9%, reflecting the repositioning and relaunch of Game Developers Conference. In H1, Informa highlighted strength across a number of B2B market categories, including Finance (SuperReturn International, Money20/20 Europe), Healthcare & Pharma(HIMSS, CPHI China) and Food (Vitafoods Europe, Natural Products Expo), according to its investor presentation. In 2026, 1%+ of B2B Live Events growth is targeted to come from growth in attendee value (such as ticketing, hosted buying, curated content, product specification, supplier knowledge and hotels & cities strategy) and amplification services (including first-party data, 365 services, matchmaking, content marketing, product directory, accreditation, sponsorship and lead generation), according to the investor presentation. Context: 2025 full-year performance. Informa reported record results for 2025 in March 2026, with full-year revenues reaching $5.38 billion (£4.04 billion) and underlying revenue growth of 6.3%. The company delivered its fifth consecutive year of double-digit adjusted earnings per share growth, with adjusted diluted EPS rising 11% to 55.6 pence. The 2025 performance included 8.7% underlying adjusted operating profit growth and an improved adjusted operating margin of 28.2%, up from 28.0% in 2024. Free cash flow reached $1.18 billion (£884.8 million) with 106% operating cash conversion. For 2025, B2B Live Events delivered strong growth across all three divisions - Informa Markets, Informa Connect and Informa Festivals. The H1 2026 results show the company maintaining its growth trajectory despite regional disruption, with underlying revenue growth of 6.8% (excluding non-recurring data contracts) tracking close to the 6.3% full-year 2025 pace. Looking ahead. Informa reported $4.5 billion of 2026 revenue already traded, committed or visible, representing approximately 80% of targeted full-year revenues. The company has more than $800 million in H1 2027 revenue committed or visible. Why this matters for the exhibition sector. Informa's results provide critical visibility into global exhibition market conditions and demonstrate the sector's resilience despite geopolitical disruption. Market confidence indicators: The company's ability to reschedule 15+ major IMEA brands within the same fiscal year - rather than canceling them - signals strong exhibitor and attendee commitment. The 90% advance booking rate for Informa Markets' full-year exhibitor revenue demonstrates sustained demand for face-to-face business platforms. Geographic diversification: Informa's performance underscores the value of geographic spread in exhibition portfolios. While IMEA faced H1 disruption, strength in the Americas (48% of group revenue), Europe (18%) and ASEAN markets (18% of group revenue from Asia including Australia) offset regional volatility. Forward visibility: The $4.5 billion in committed or visible 2026 revenue - 80% of the full-year target - provides unusual transparency into exhibition sector demand. The $800 million+ already committed for H1 2027 suggests organizers are securing exhibitor commitments earlier in the cycle. Sector consolidation implications: As the world's largest exhibition organizer by revenue, Informa's 8% underlying growth in B2B Live Events sets a benchmark for sector performance and validates the business model for transaction-led events in specialist markets. Sidebar: Key figures for Informa * H1 2026 revenue: $2.76bn (£2.06bn at 1.3376 GBP/USD) * Underlying revenue growth: 6.8% (8% for B2B Live Events) * Full-year guidance: 6% underlying revenue growth * 2026 revenue visibility: $4.5bn (c.80% of target) * 2025 full-year revenue: $5.38bn (£4.04bn) * 2025 underlying revenue growth: 6.3% Currency conversion based on GBP/USD rate of 1.3376 as of July 30, 2026. Rail industry strives for harmony... but a long way to go.

Rail industry strives for harmony... but a long way to go. * Posted by Max Berry * | * 30 Jul, 2026 THE QUEST for a strategic national approach to rail freight was a recurring theme among speakers at Informa's Rail Freight Conference in Melbourne this week (29-30 July). From integrating Australia's disparate state-based networks and multiple [said to be 18] track managers to finding a path to interoperability of rail operator assets across networks, rail industry leaders lamented the continuing fragmentation of Australia's rail freight networks and the transfer of freight from rail to road it continues to cause. "We need a framework and system-level view, not a list of projects," Infrastructure Australia chief executive Adam Copp told the conference in the first keynote, noting that freight projects comprised two of IA's five highest priority projects. "Because ultimately, Australia's future freight productivity will be determined less by individual projects and more by how effectively our freight system works as a whole. Australia's freight task is continuing to grow," Mr Copp said. "And over the next 25 years, thanks to population growth, Australia's domestic freight task is set to increase by at least 26%." National Transport Commission CEO Michael Hopkins told the conference that the push for interoperability through rail standards harmonisation - for example in signalling and train radio communications - was driven by the rail industry, not government. "It's not often you get an industry come to you [in government] and say, 'I think we need more regulation'. But to get more interoperability that's what happened," Mr Hopkins said. Launched in 2023, the rail standards harmonisation project is now under way across the National Network for Interoperability, Mr Hopkins said, "but there's a long way to go". But a detailed presentation from Paul Williams, Pacific National's head of technology transformation, relating the rail operator's experience with electronic train control systems (ETCS) showed the barriers to achieving interoperability. An industry discussion paper suggested rail operators did not need to adopt the expensive ETCS if they could demonstrate equivalent outcomes from other train control systems. "Where we ended up, pretty quickly after that actually, was the the communiqué from the meeting of ministers of transport and infrastructure that... mandated ETCS conformance as the sole interoperability pathway for the National Network for Interoperability," Mr Williams said. "So we started with a model that said interoperable outcome-focused, and we ended up with a conformance to a very specific and very tight functional specification called ETCS. "So what we've moved from is an equivalent outcome to a mandated conformance." Max Berry is a journalist with 30 years' experience, including freelance reporting for The Age. Most recently, Max has been Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Adviser on the Murray Basin Rail Project. Informa TechTarget and The Sherpa Group join forces to launch 'Partner Demand Assurance'

Informa TechTarget and The Sherpa Group join forces to launch 'Partner Demand Assurance' Informa TechTarget, an indispensable partner for B2B intelligence, media, and marketing solutions, announced the launch of Partner Demand Assurance (PDA): a partner engagement and enablement solution delivered in collaboration with UK-based partner marketing agency The Sherpa Group. This new joint solution is designed to help B2B technology companies both maximize and prove ROI from their partner program investments by addressing a critical gap in partner marketing: what happens to leads after they're delivered to partners. Partner Demand Assurance combines permissioned data from Informa TechTarget's proprietary audience ecosystem and its proven demand generation capabilities with The Sherpa Group's partner enablement expertise and EdisonAI platform, which fosters transparency into partner capabilities and lead handling. This is of critical importance to B2B enterprise tech companies, as 96% of all IT deals are now influenced by partners - as many as 6 or 7 different partners for major tech purchasing decisions - at 28 moments along the B2B customer journey (source: Omdia by TechTarget). "Successful and accountable partner marketing is a necessity in the modern B2B customer journey," said Jay McBain, Chief Analyst for Channels, Partnerships & Ecosystems at Omdia by Informa TechTarget. "By combining Informa TechTarget's channel expertise, robust audience, and demand generation capabilities with Sherpa's notable strengths in data-driven partner engagement, execution, and enablement, Partner Demand Assurance is uniquely positioned to help organizations protect, prove, and optimize their partner growth investments." Partner Demand Assurance tackles common pain points for partner marketers, including unclear MDF (Market Development Fund) investment returns, limited insight into partner lead follow-up, and the ability to reach new markets and regions. It accomplishes this through a combination of three core services, with options for customization: * Partner Capability Assurance: Validation of individual partner capabilities and market readiness. * Partner Marketing Support: A dedicated resource to provide 1-on-1 guidance to partners, including campaign follow-up best practices. * Partner Engagement Platform: Lead status tracking via Sherpa's EdisonAI platform, giving partner marketers visibility into partner campaign performance and conversion. Additional custom services - including joint value proposition development, enablement asset creation, SDR services, and nurture cadences - are also available. "As an indispensable strategic partner to our clients in B2B technology marketing and sales, it is imperative that we serve them with smart, end-to-end solutions that meet their partner marketing needs," said Gary Nugent, CEO of Informa TechTarget. "We chose to work with The Sherpa Group on the new Partner Demand Assurance solution for their data-driven methodology, knowledgeable teams, and EdisonAI platform. Together, we can deliver full-funnel transparency, accountability, and improved outcomes for partner marketing programs." "Our partnership with Informa TechTarget creates something truly unique - a solution that generates high-quality leads through proprietary data and insight-driven campaigns, coupled with the assurance that partners have the right mix of capabilities, support, and accountability to successfully convert those leads. It's this combination that makes all the difference for partner marketing success," added Tom Perry, CEO of The Sherpa Group. To share your insights, please write to The AB at [email protected]
