Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • 0–7+ years of experience in accounting.
  • Good Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functionality, and report formatting.
  • Base knowledge of accounting procedures, principles, and regulations, including generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and work ethic.
  • Consistent performance in following tasks and projects through to resolution.
  • Ability to work independently and identify opportunities to help without waiting for assignments.
  • Flexibility to manage multiple projects and change direction quickly.
  • Comfort working in a small office and team setting.
  • Ability to work on-site at one of the company’s locations.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the monthly close for one manufacturing plant, including timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.
  • Review and record inventory transactions for receiving, production disposition, and other inventory activity; analyze variances and work with plant personnel to identify and report trends and results.
  • Process weekly payroll for one manufacturing plant using a third-party payroll provider.
  • Manage accounts payable for one plant by receiving vendor invoices, completing the three-way match, and obtaining payment approval from the authorized purchaser.
  • Enter approved invoices in the company’s enterprise resource planning system and process weekly check runs for assigned locations.
  • Assist with the year-end close process, including the annual review with external accountants.
  • Participate in general accounting operations, including cash application, customer pricing updates, fixed asset management, and account reconciliations.
  • Support the Accounting Manager and team with other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with an enterprise resource planning system and general ledger management.
  • Experience utilizing a payroll system such as Paychex or ADP.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, including cost accounting.
