Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of proven and/or related work experience are required.
  • An understanding of the Federal Travel Regulations and knowledge of the federal travel authorization and vouchering process are required.
  • Experience providing travel scheduling and familiarity with travel systems similar to E2 Solutions are required.
  • Experience identifying errors and taking appropriate corrective actions is required.
  • Substantial use of Microsoft Excel is required.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a key travel contact for Fraud Section employees by providing technical, policy, and process advice and guidance on travel to employees, attorneys, and management officials.
  • Interpret official temporary duty travel requests and prepare travel authorizations based on traveler, Section, and mission needs.
  • Ensure travel requests comply with Division and Department policies and procedures and that travel authorizations are submitted timely.
  • Process and submit travel vouchers for reimbursement and ensure compliance with applicable policies and processes.
  • Review travel authorizations and vouchers in E2 Solutions for errors before submission for approval and adjust travel requests when discrepancies are found.
  • Provide timely updates to travelers, routing officials, and authorizing officials when travel-request changes occur.
  • For official travel outside the United States, coordinate and obtain official passports, assist employees with visa applications, contact foreign embassies for additional information, and provide information to the State Department to obtain country clearances.
  • Conduct monthly travel updates addressing open travel obligations that remain open in E2 Solutions more than 30 days after the traveler's departure date.
  • Act as a liaison between the Division's finance section and Fraud Section travel teams regarding travel-policy questions, policy interpretation, and voucher or authorization issues.
  • Make reservations for travelers in E2 Solutions when travelers are unable to make reservations themselves.
  • Assist in evaluating the current state of Fraud Section travel operations, recommend improvements, document processes, and develop and update metrics for senior leadership review.
  • Provide monthly metric reporting to ensure travel authorizations and vouchers are processed timely and accurately.
  • Assist Fraud Section management with creating PowerPoint slides, website content, tutorials, and other travel-program work products for Section dissemination.

James Vant appointed CEO of cybersecurity firm XLA

XLA, a cybersecurity and data management provider serving the US federal government, has appointed James Vant as chief executive officer. Vant previously served as president of eTelligent Group and held senior leadership roles at Octo, an IBM company, where he managed profit and loss responsibilities and led strategic integration efforts. The Vienna, Virginia-based company provides cybersecurity, data analytics, technical solutions and international programme support services to federal agencies. Founded over 30 years ago, XLA has supported missions including homeland security, disaster relief and cybersecurity incidents.
