Linux System Administrator

We’re looking for a System Administrator with an excellent technical background in Linux knowledge to join our fast-paced team in maintaining our mission-critical operations system.

As a System Administrator on our team, you’ll provide hands-on support to the administration of the tools and environment. You will perform Linux Systems Engineering and Administration working with virtual servers and associated technologies.

What You’ll Work On: 

• Install and administer Oracle’s PeopleSoft applications and updates.

• Identify and implement application and server lever patches.

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance.

• Design, document, and implement system configurations.

• Work collaboratively with cloud engineers, application developers, and security analysts in a fast-paced agile environment.

• Support new design or architecture tasking as part of system development efforts as requested.

• Administer and service accounts.

• Ensure products and systems comply with requirements and government information assurance, as well as cyber security standards and practices through formal verification methods.

• Assess performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.

• Develop and maintain analytical procedures to meet changing requirements.

You Have: 

• 3+ years of experience in Linux operating systems

• Experience with Linux server administration

• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

• HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have: 

• Experience administering PeopleSoft or comparable Oracle products

• Experience with AWS Cloud

• Experience working with RHEL or CentOS

• Experience with BASH, JSON, or Python scripting

• Knowledge of Ansible Playbooks

• Linux Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
