Tia Health runs a telehealth platform in Canada that connects residents with licensed physicians for non-emergency care through video or phone consultations. Its service covers prescription renewals, specialist referrals, and medical advice, and it uses a direct-to-consumer model. In Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia, visits are covered by provincial health plans, making the service free for eligible residents; elsewhere, a fee-for-service option is available. The dual revenue model enables broad reach across provinces. The platform digitizes the consultation process to provide convenient, timely access to healthcare and aims to reduce wait times associated with traditional clinics, positioning itself in Canada’s growing telehealth market.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • July 28, 2026, Tia Health still advertises free visits in Ontario, Alberta, and BC.
  • Talkspace integration widens Tia’s women’s mental-health funnel and retention.
  • Private-pay pricing from $55 creates a monetization path outside provincial coverage.

What critics are saying

  • Ontario’s virtual-care billing rules already narrowed direct-to-patient video reimbursement on December 1, 2022.
  • Maple, TELUS Health MyCare, and Ogaei pressure Tia on speed, breadth, and reach.
  • If Ontario, Alberta, or BC tighten billing, Tia’s free-care model collapses.

What makes Tia Health unique

  • July 22, 2025, Talkspace made Tia Health its primary therapy partner.
  • Tia Health bills OHIP, AHCIP, and MSP for covered visits.
  • Tia Health blends virtual primary care, prescriptions, referrals, and women’s mental health.
