Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years experience in a progressively responsible role or significant time in admission.
  • Experience working in higher education, business, operations or related field.
  • Extensive experience with international student populations.
  • Experience working with various databases and office applications including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong problem solving skills and knowledge in areas such as business process design and business operations.
Responsibilities
  • Regularly review and update International Recruitment policies and procedures to reflect evolving standards and trends.
  • Cultivate and strengthen partnerships with community colleges, universities, high schools, and other educational entities.
  • Coordinate joint programs and initiatives that advance international student opportunities, enrollment, and student success.
  • Serve as liaison with external agencies to promote and support international student-related collaborations.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive agent partnership strategy, including recruitment, vetting, onboarding, training, performance management, contract oversight, commission structures, and ongoing compliance monitoring, ensuring ethical practices and strong ROI across markets.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Transfer Admission and the Director of Global Initiatives in the development of transfer options.
  • Develop and deliver resources, workshops, and communication tools that assist students and internal stakeholders with the transfer process.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data on international enrollment, including agent, partnership, and search effectiveness.
  • Use insights to recommend improvements and inform strategic planning for international enrollment and student success.
  • Prepare and present reports to institutional leaders and external stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and trends.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Vice President of Admission to develop, refine, and execute innovative and data-driven strategies to achieve international undergraduate and graduate enrollment goals, aligned with institutional goals and market demands.
  • Lead efforts to achieve international enrollment targets, continuously analyzing performance metrics and adapting strategies to optimize conversion rates. In collaboration with campus partners, improve offer acceptance and enrollment conversion rates.
  • Staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in international recruitment, ensure the university remains competitive.
  • Design, implement, and monitor a comprehensive recruitment plan for growing international enrollment, utilizing market trend analysis and best practices to optimize outreach efforts.
  • Work closely with Enrollment Marketing and Communications to design, implement, measure, and improve international enrollment marketing and communication strategies, tactics, and initiatives. Serve as primary approver of all international communications and advertising copy.
  • Work closely with Admission Operations to facilitate international application review and decision release.
  • Work closely with the Office of Student Financial Aid on the awarding of merit-based scholarships to undergraduate applicants, and with the Honors College to identify and select high ability students for the College and for high ability scholarships.
  • Serve as liaison with campus partners including, but not limited to Global Initiatives, Athletics, Farmer School of Business, College of Creative Arts, to ensure collaborative efforts to meet various enrollment goals across the university.
  • Manage a recruitment territory, which includes planning and conducting recruitment travel, maintaining counselor relations, following up with students and families, and monitoring enrollment trends, making needed adjustments to meet enrollment goals.
  • Facilitate and maintain a strong network of agents, schools, and strategic partners to advance the Miami brand and reputation and to grow international enrollment in assigned territory.
  • Direct the hiring, training, leadership, supervision and performance evaluation process for all classified and unclassified staff members in the unit, ensuring alignment, accountability, and professional development across the team.
  • Serve on the Office of Admission leadership team, the EMSS extended leadership team, and various divisional and institutional committees; represent Miami University at conferences and on select committees nationally.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Vice President on short- and long-term strategic planning, resources allocation and initiatives to meet the enrollment management goals each year.
  • Own and manage the international recruitment budget, including forecasting, travel spend, vendor contracts, and ROI analysis.

  • Master’s Degree with 3 years of experience.
  • Experience working in higher education, business, operations or related field
  • Experience working in a higher education setting, preferably in international admission.
  • Knowledge/experience working with Technolutions Slate.
  • Experience with extensive travel for recruitment.
