We are hiring a User Experience (UX) Engineer to join our team. We operate from our London engineering hub and practice a hybrid working model. Relocation assistance may be provided. Occasional travel may be required.
As a User Experience (UX) Engineer, you will:
- Produce compelling, intuitive UX designs based on product strategy and the time you spend with end users.
- Clearly communicate both your designs and the nature of the problems faced by users to the team.
- Design, develop, and maintain high quality, stable UI code in conjunction with other front-end engineers.
- Work to high engineering standards, observe and contribute to best practices, ensure suitable levels of testing and risk management, and participate in code reviews, design discussion, etc.
- Drive high standards of design quality in our product and understand best practices around accessibility and semantic HTML.
- Work through constraints on design and find pragmatic compromises with the team.
- Work iteratively in both design and engineering, understanding that not all problems can be solved in one go.
- Interface with designers in other teams to share expertise, agree best practices, and ensure a consistent quality of user experience across Rebellion’s product lines.
Qualifications for this position include:
- Ability to obtain and hold an active security clearance.
- Expertise in designing intuitive and powerful user experiences in software products.
- Experience implementing user interfaces in complex web applications.
- Knowledge of human centered design concepts and distilling complex user problems into tangible designs and easy-to-use interfaces.
- Experience working in a close-knit development team, contributing to code reviews and technical discussions.
- Experience working in modern product teams using sprint/scrum or other agile methodologies.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders at various levels of technical expertise.
Preferred Qualifications for this position include:
- Knowledge of our front-end technologies of choice: Typescript, react, react-relay, sass
- Experience using Figma to produce interactive wireframe designs.
- Experience translating user feedback and design into clear and well-specified user stories.
- Ability to frame design work in the context of design systems and a broader ecosystem of products.

The nature of our work:
Many of the national security programs that are supported by Rebellion’s products operate in secure environments. It is a requirement of this position that you are able to obtain and hold a personnel security clearance.
