Requirements
  • Two to four years of experience in production planning, scheduling, supply chain coordination, or a related manufacturing operations role.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing or production operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and basic data organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to follow up effectively across departments.
  • Ability to work for prolonged periods while sitting and working on a computer.
  • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, and move throughout production and warehouse areas, and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in both office and current Good Manufacturing Practice environments while following required safety procedures and personal protective equipment requirements when entering production areas.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in maintaining daily and weekly production schedules for finished goods, work-in-process, bulk compounding, and packaging lines under the guidance of supply chain and operations leadership.
  • Own and manage the rolling zero-to-four-week production schedule, ensuring near-term orders are sequenced, resourced, and communicated to the production floor; flag conflicts or capacity gaps and work with the Supply and Forecast Analyst to resolve them before they impact committed ship dates.
  • Help sequence production orders to minimize changeovers and group similar products to limit line downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Participate in daily production meetings and help track and communicate schedule changes and priorities to manufacturing and support teams.
  • Flag scheduling gaps or capacity conflicts to the Supply and Forecast Analyst and assist in drafting proposals to level-load lines and vessels.
  • Confirm that raw materials, ingredients, and packaging supplies are available ahead of scheduled production runs and follow up with the warehouse on inbound receipts.
  • Communicate potential material shortages or incoming delays to the planning and purchasing teams so production is not disrupted.
  • Follow up with the quality lab on testing status for incoming materials and in-process samples, and escalate delays that could impact the schedule.
  • Help monitor inventory levels for ingredients, packaging, and finished goods to support accurate planning and minimize excess and obsolete stock.
  • Record and track daily production actuals against the schedule and prepare routine status reports for production leadership.
  • Help maintain master data in ERP/MRP systems, including vessel assignments, batch sizes, line assignments, and lead times, and flag data-quality issues to the planning team.
  • Support continuous-improvement efforts related to scheduling accuracy, data integrity, and production flow.
  • Determine appropriate batch sizes for incoming orders by referencing available compounding vessel sizes and ensure planned production quantities are practical multiples of vessel capacity.
  • Review incoming customer purchase orders to verify that order quantities and unit prices align with quoted pricing and minimum order quantities, and flag discrepancies before acknowledging or processing orders.
  • Validate that customer-requested delivery dates on incoming purchase orders are achievable given current raw-material lead times, identify at-risk orders, and communicate conflicts to purchasing and customer service teams.
  • Cross-reference purchase-order line-item descriptions against the correct finished-goods item codes, bulk codes, and approved recipes in the ERP system before production is released.
  • Place new or non-standard items on hold when recipes, item codes, or bulk formulas are not established, and escalate to operations leadership or the assigned Business Development lead for required documentation and approvals.
  • Enter work instructions onto production orders in consultation with operations and science teams, ensuring instructions are accurate, complete, and reflect current approved methods.
  • Issue cut orders tied to material availability when full order quantities cannot be fulfilled, and confirm customer alignment on partial shipment quantities and revised delivery expectations.
  • Embrace the site’s Safety, Quality, and Environmental missions.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or a related field is preferred; relevant coursework or internship experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Exposure to personal care, consumer packaged goods, or batch manufacturing environments is a plus but not required.
  • Prior experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, DOSS, Mar-Kov, or a similar platform is a plus but not required.

Prime Matter Labs acquires troubled US makeup manufacturer Mana Products from Traub Capital

Prime Matter Labs has acquired Mana Products, a struggling makeup contract manufacturer, from Traub Capital. The deal concludes a troubled period for Mana Products, which furloughed employees and explored sale options before shutting down operations. Mana Products is amongst the largest colour cosmetics manufacturers in the United States, with operations spanning makeup, skincare and haircare. Sources estimate skincare accounted for roughly a third of the company's business, part of Traub Capital's strategy to diversify category exposure. Prime Matter Labs is backed by Monogram Capital. Women's Wear Daily first reported the employee furlough, sale exploration and acquisition.
