Requirements
  • 10+ years’ experience with Bachelor’s Degree
  • 8+ years’ experience with Master’s Degree
  • Proficiency with solid modeling required, Solidworks preferred, FEA experience nice to have
  • Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing, Design for Assembly, and various assembly techniques
  • Comfort with and understanding of the interplay between various components of a complex, electromechanical system
  • Prior experience supporting verification and validation plans to advance from prototype designs to finished products
  • Prior direct work with external development partners and manufacturers preferred
  • Experience with medical device product development / CFR 21 Part 820 design controls, IEC 60601 and the risk management process strongly desired
  • Prior experience working on Robotics Systems is a plus
Responsibilities
  • Participate in all phases of product development
  • Manage a large scope of mechanical design work including possible partnership with external partners
  • Specify and choose electromechanical components
  • Understand, analyze, and suggest design improvements to existing technology
  • Manage comprehensive verification and validation strategies at the subsystem and system level
  • Work with partners to produce various levels of functional prototypes
  • Produce, review and understand engineering drawings, GD&T and tolerance analyses
