They are a strong patient advocate within the medical system and will help write orders for testing and therapy, while working with multidisciplinary teams. The APP will also provide education to the patient and family on discharge instructions, medications, and addressing any concerns, while making sure the patient is transition to the appropriate level of care. Documentation is completed in EPIC to ensure patients plan and progress.

Position\: Physician Assistant, PA / Nurse Practitioner, NP - Hospitalist 
Shift\: Full Time, 40 hours/week.  Mix of 12 and 8 hour shifts with weekend requirement.  No Holidays. 

Experience\:
1. 2 years Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant experience preferred in Hospitalist Medicine or related departments
2. Minimum of 2 years Nursing experience in an inpatient setting preferred.

Education\:
1. Completion of a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program required.
2. MSN or Masters of Science Required.

Licensures/Certifications\:
1. Licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing Examiners as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner or  Licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Medical Education and Licensure.
2. Certification by the NCCPA (National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants) or Nurse Examiners as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)
3. Provider BLS (American Heart Assoc/American Red Cross) required.
4. Require ACLS certification.
5. May require PALS (pediatric advanced life support).
6. Successful completion of the MLH credentialing process through the Medical Staff office, with temporary or permanent privileges approved.
