Requirements
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in project accounting, job costing, cost control, or operational finance, preferably in construction, civil, or heavy industrial settings.
  • Strong knowledge of contract requirements for billing, subcontract compliance, change orders, and holdbacks.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and familiarity with enterprise resource planning setups and reporting tools, including advanced Microsoft Excel features such as PivotTables and lookups.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills, including the ability to identify variances and root causes and communicate findings clearly.
  • The ability to manage and prioritize multiple competing tasks independently and as part of a team.
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Ability to work in compliance with company safety policies and WorkSafeBC regulations, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, and participate in toolbox talks and safety training where applicable.
Responsibilities
  • Operate in accordance with and uphold the Emil Anderson Group Core Values in all aspects of the work.

  • Ensure project setups in the enterprise resource planning system, including contracts, change orders, purchase orders, and subcontract compliance, are accurate and aligned with operational requirements.
  • Review project costs, payroll hours, and expense classifications ahead of billing cycles to assist operations with financial clarity.
  • Prepare job cost adjustments and month-end accruals so that costs are recognized accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate monthly invoicing, progress claims, and holdback processing in accordance with contract terms and project schedules.
  • Track and manage accounts receivable and conduct billing analysis to support cash flow and financial health across projects.
  • Build working relationships with project teams, accounting, leadership, and external stakeholders such as joint venture partners.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Accounting, and Project Management to ensure consistency in financial processes and clarify financial information for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in construction, civil, or heavy industrial settings.
  • Experience with Vista Viewpoint is a strong asset.
