We’re looking for passionate laboratory technicians who will support high complexity laboratory testing on patient specimens across various assays and platforms. This role will be performing quality control and quality assurance procedures while aligning with all applicable local, state and federal laboratory requirements. The work requires excellent attention to detail, effective written and verbal communication skills, the ability to multitask and be flexible with tasks and schedules, and the ability to work independently in a team environment. The team’s culture is one in which direct and consistent feedback can be given and taken; we encourage honest and open communication and constructive feedback. We rely on team members to work with a sense of urgency and with a goal of putting the team above the individual. We prioritize transparency and continuous process improvement to contribute towards the highest level of patient care.
This role is essential and requires being on-site at our San Francisco, CA location with a Sunday - Thursday, Tuesday - Saturday, or Thursday - Monday schedule. Flexibility and the ability to work overtime is required when needed by the team.
What you’ll do:
- Under the supervision of the General Supervisor and CLSs, the Laboratory Technician will prepare reagents and/or specimens for testing and process specimens via automated systems in accordance with the laboratory’s standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Process specimens utilizing Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) as well as other sequencing and Copy Number Variation (CNV) assay platforms
- Identify any issues that may adversely affect the quality of test results and reporting these to appropriate representatives to ensure prompt resolution
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory studies or equivalent science related studies, strongly preferred
- 3+ years minimum of laboratory experience preferably in a molecular biology lab performing DNA Sequencing
- Ability to work full-time schedule that may include weekend days or off-schedule requests when needed
- Passion for patient care is a plus!
