Requirements
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in architecture, design, or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of experience in a professional architectural or design firm.
  • Demonstrated experience in design production and 3D visualization.
  • Understanding of the relationship between design and constructability.
  • Proficiency with Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Affinity, V-Ray, and Enscape.
  • Experience selecting finish materials, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • A basic understanding of merchandising needs in a store environment.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for job-related written communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with generating original design concepts and completing preliminary design documentation, conceptual plans and elevations, 3D renderings, and exhibits, with a focus on accurate and comprehensive design documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with architectural and design staff on experiential concept designs and projects of various types and scales, considering jurisdictional requirements, client standards, constructability, and programmatic guidelines.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate conceptual design work into contract documents, including assisting with construction document production.
  • Conduct design research from benchmarking sources for ideation and provide detailed design documentation to project teams.
  • Complete timely and accurate surveys of existing conditions in spaces identified as potential tenant-improvement sites.
  • Research project materiality and FF&E specifications, including durability, aesthetic qualities, and sustainable design considerations.
  • Coordinate project deliverables with external consultants and project partners.
  • Assist with data collection, project programming, and preliminary space planning.
  • Contribute to quality assurance and quality control reviews of design deliverables and design-related construction documents to maintain design intent throughout project phases.
  • Assist with generating design-focused project specifications, researching products and materials, and coordinating with Project Designers.
  • Contribute to Construction Administration procedures, including reviewing design-related requests for information and project submittals.
  • Contribute to design deliverables for request-for-proposal and request-for-qualification responses and marketing proposals.
  • Participate in efforts to build and support the design culture, including adherence to design rigor standards and processes.
  • Produce accurate and timely work according to project schedules and workplans while demonstrating understanding of design intent and project budget.
Desired Qualifications
  • Certification as a licensed professional is preferred.
  • Experience with sustainable material sourcing and documentation of embodied carbon is preferred.
