Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Eligible to practice as determined by State Board of Nursing; Less than one year of experience working as an RN; RN licensure in the State of Missouri, or new graduate of accredited school of nursing and must obtain licensure within 6 months of graduation; Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider certification or future within 90 days; Registered Nurse licensure timeline (Illinois/Missouri/Oklahoma/Wisconsin as applicable) including NCLEX pass within specified timeframe; State-specific licensure pathway includes NCLEX and license letter.
Responsibilities
  • Performs comprehensive nursing assessment/reassessment.
  • Establishes, coordinates and evaluates a plan of care based on analysis of assessment data, patient diagnosis, lab data, tests, procedures, physician orders, protocols and standards of care and other information as relevant.
  • Provides and documents nursing interventions based on assessed patient needs, plan of care, and changes in patient status.
  • Documents and or communicates nursing care and or changes in patient condition.
  • Specialized Care: Provides specialized care to patients at high risk for injury.
  • Demonstrates accountability for own professional practice.
  • Ability to relate to coworkers in a professional and appropriate manner.
  • Safety/Infection Control: Performs job in accordance with safety and infection control policies.
  • Service: Provides service excellence to the customers of Saint Louis University Hospital by delivering timely, high quality care in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Incorporates Performance Improvement and Evidenced Based Practice into individual professional practice.
  • Age Appropriate Care: Provides age-appropriate care to Adult and Geriatric.
  • Cost Effective Services: Uses resources efficiently and documents chargeable supplies and equipment used to provide care.
