Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, accounting, finance, or related field
Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), preferred but not required
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), preferred but not required
Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in IT compliance, SOX IT General Controls and/or IT audit experience including control design, testing and reporting
Knowledge and experience contributing to SOX audits and Compliance Frameworks (e.g., COBIT), as well as an understanding of the IT General Controls
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated aptitude for business and operational analysis
Proven ability to manage effectively in a high volume, goal-oriented environment
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, etc)

Responsibilities

Identify, understand, and document processes and procedures surrounding IT internal controls
Develop a detailed understanding of IT processes and assist in preparing/reviewing various documents for auditors
Develop, modify, and implement Information Technology General Controls (ITGCs) for SOX compliance
Coordinate information requests within expected timeframes for internal and external commitments
Perform assessments of key controls against process activities to highlight areas of improvement
Prepare and respond to audit findings and deficiencies
Recommend policy, process, and procedural changes to resolve audit findings
Build and maintain cross-functional relationships to drive internal controls readiness
Engage with management to implement new controls and processes in response to business changes
Manage multiple requests, projects, or initiatives
Assist with coordination, communication, and training efforts for IT

An Internal Controls Analyst, IT at Argo is a professional with experience related to IT General Controls (ITGC), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), Internal Audits, and Agreed Upon Procedures engagements and is quick to learn and can focus on the most important elements in new or ambiguous circumstances in relation to SOX program management. This position will play an integral part in creating standards/internal processes for IT GRC (audit requests; risk assessment; controls monitoring; issue management; policy lifecycle management). This position will work with IT leadership in key projects and initiatives focused on implementation of process improvements related to ITGC and reducing/eliminating audit risks.

Key Accountabilities

Identify, understand, and document processes and procedures surrounding IT internal controls. Continually monitor and update the assessment of the control environment, keeping abreast of significant control issues, trends, and developments.
Develop a detailed understanding of IT processes and assist in preparing/reviewing various documents to communicate understanding to internal/external auditors.
Responsible for developing, modifying and/or implementing Information Technology General Controls (ITGCs), and for planning, executing and reporting phases of the SOX IT plan.
Coordinate information requests within expected timeframes to meet internal and external commitments.
Performs assessments or “pre-audit” reviews of key controls against process activities to highlight areas of improvement and to confirm quality and adherence to audit standards, ensuring completeness of the SOX IT Compliance documentation within the IT organization.
Provide support in preparing and responding to audit findings and deficiencies.
Develop and/or recommend policy, process, and procedural changes to management to resolve audit findings.
Prepare accurate, comprehensive, and timely status reporting.
Build and maintain cross-functional relationships across Infrastructure, Security Engineering, Application, and audit partners to drive the internal controls readiness and assurance.
Engage with management to implement new controls and processes in response to changes in the business environment, such as new product introduction, platform / technology adoption and migrations.
Manage revolving workload of multiple requests, projects, or initiatives.
Assist with coordination, communication, and training efforts for IT.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, accounting, finance, or related field. Relevant years of experience at the professional level may be substituted for the education requirement.
Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), preferred but not required.
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), preferred but not required.
Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in IT compliance, SOX IT General Controls and/or IT audit experience including control design, testing and reporting.
Knowledge and experience contributing to SOX audits and Compliance Frameworks (e.g., COBIT), as well as an understanding of the IT General Controls
Ability to work in a fluid environment with ongoing change and partner with colleagues to achieve objectives.
Ability to work and make judgments independently and act to solve process related issues.
Ability to manage complex situations or problems with limited guidance.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated aptitude for business and operational analysis.
Proven ability to manage effectively in a high volume, goal-oriented environment.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, etc).
Candidates at a slightly lower level of experience may be considered for a junior analyst role.
