Requirements
  • Must have completed a neurology residency program.
  • Stroke, Neurocritical Care, or Neurohospitalist fellowship training or equivalent experience required.
  • Candidates must be board eligible or board certified in one of the following: American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (AOBNP).
  • Must have a Wisconsin medical license by the start date.
  • MD or DO or equivalent is required by the start date.
Responsibilities
  • In the Clinician Teacher (CT) Track, faculty provide patient care as their primary responsibility (90%); clinical teaching is expected. The remaining 10% of time is dedicated to research, teaching and/or service, depending on the candidate's interest.
  • If candidate chooses to pursue research, efforts could include clinical trials or collaborations with established researchers.
  • Teaching efforts are typically within the context of the clinical practice and include teaching of medical students, residents and/or fellows; however, other classroom opportunities exist.
  • Clinical activities include inpatient services and outpatient stroke clinics at the UW Hospital, William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital or other affiliated locations.
  • Candidates will provide telestroke consultations with regional partners and provide neurohospitalist coverage for general neurology services.
  • Neuro ICU staffed by neuro-intensivists.
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
Desired Qualifications
  • For an appointment at Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor rank on CT Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CT Track.
