Responsibilities
  • Providing technical leadership and implementing best practices for data engineering.
  • Ensuring the data infrastructure meets the needs of the business.
  • Working closely with data analysts and other engineers to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of data solutions.
  • Creating and maintaining scalable, reliable, consistent and repeatable systems that support data operations for Reporting, Analytics, Applications, and Data Science.
  • Gathering and processing raw data at scale (including writing scripts, web scraping, calling APIs, write SQL queries, etc.).
  • Using ETL processes in order to maintain, improve, clean, and manipulate data.
  • Profiling data to measure quality, integrity, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes.
Desired Qualifications
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar
  • Current and active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
  • Prior completed Counterintelligence Polygraph (CI-Poly)
  • Prior engineering or development experience with the Space Industry
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present to program management and customers
  • Ability to effectively write technical documentation
  • Experience sharing knowledge, mentoring, and working in a collaborative environment
  • At least 3 years (T03), 6 years (T04) of experience developing object-oriented applications in Java
  • At least 3 years (T03), 6 years (T04) of experience developing applications on Linux/Unix operating systems including proficiency with OS commands and shell scripting
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, testing, and troubleshooting skills
  • Active Security+ (or similar) certification
  • Ability to travel (limited, up to 10%)
  • For Data focused role, it is preferred that a candidate have some combination of the following: Experience in data migration and data modeling, including working with legacy systems, Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services, Hands-on working experience with RDBMS, SQL, scripting, and coding, Familiarity with JavaScript API, Rest API or Data Extract APIs, Experience with Gitlab, DevSecOps utilizing test-driven development, and Containers (Kubernetes, Docker, Docker Compose), Experience developing data pipelines and normalizing data
