Requirements
  • One-year nursing experience is preferred, and two years’ relevant patient care experience is required.
  • Must demonstrate good leadership qualities.
  • Current RN licensure recognized by the Kentucky State Board of Nursing is required.
Responsibilities
  • Delegation of nursing care activities and provision of supervision
  • Assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems and performs technical aspects of care competently.
  • Works with surgical technologists, orderlies, and other staff to perform post-case cleaning duties.
  • Restocking of the operating rooms involved in the assigned specialty to ensure that supplies are readily available.
  • Precept new RN staff in the assigned specialty
  • Establish clinical competencies for new hires and staff involved with assigned specialty.
  • Initiate, maintain, and/or manage communication regarding subjects including specialty case start times, issue resolution, and staff and training update
  • Assessment and identification of patient needs.
  • Implementation of appropriate interventions for patient care.
  • Establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care.
