In this role, your objective is to coordinate and integrate different departments to ensure that the aircraft or components are on schedule, risks are mitigated promptly, and the aircraft/components meet quality and safety expectations. The goal is to accomplish the production process in the smoothest, most judicious, and most economical way.

As a Production Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Assessing the risk induced by new tasks or reworks on the aircraft/components’ progress and defining action plans to negate those risks. Proposing risk reduction plans for future improvement.
Coordinating and managing daily technical action plans and following up with the assembly team managers concerning the assignment of tasks, operations, and discrepancies to be performed on the aircraft/components according to the schedule and expected quality level.
Conducting daily monitoring of critical issues and making improvements when needed (including but not limited to shortages, technical events, and scheduling actions necessary to keep the line moving).
Reporting to the assembly team Manager about critical issues with input regarding recommendations and actions to resolve them.
Coordinating with other departments as required ensuring materials, parts, documentation, engineering data, and other items are delivered to the aircraft or shop on time.
Ability to conduct root cause analysis and define a corrective action plan to improve the process or product regarding cost, schedule, quality, etc.
Managing aircraft/components transfers, projects, and new processes under the supervision of the Business Unit management.
Utilizing support teams to maintain the aircraft/components production process and to improve the schedule.
May be selected as the assembly team’s subject matter expert (SME) for special projects.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Engineering, Business, or a related field. Completed, relevant education from an accredited college or university may be substituted with years of relevant work experience. 1 year of education = 2 years of experience.
Three (3) years of experience in aircraft completions, maintenance, and/or components manufacturing.
Knowledge of engineering practices and challenges related to the management of the production process.
Ability to research, analyze, and recommend efficient production processes through production engineering concepts regarding work-study, ergonomics, operation research, root cause analysis, manufacturing management, materials management, production planning, etc.
Ability to read, understand, and communicate (both verbally and in writing) technical information contained in aircraft maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
Proven abilities in analytical and critical thinking skills.
Ability to troubleshoot problems by determining and following detailed action plans.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Project, Access, and SharePoint.
Must be able to function throughout the total facility, including up and down stairs and in and out of aircraft with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Fluent in French
Aeronautical experience
FAA Airframe and Power plant licenses
Leadership experience
Formal training in Lean/Continuous improvement
PMP Certification
Knowledge of Visual Basic

Salary Range: $75K - 120K
