Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Six years of progressively responsible administrative experience, including compliance and supervisory responsibilities, with related experience in accounting, project management, and budget development in a university or business environment, and experience supporting proposal administration, proposal preparation, or identifying funding/sponsorship opportunities
  • Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Eight years of administration experience, accounting experience, with some management experience
Responsibilities
  • Provide financial and administrative support for the Scientific Ocean Drilling (SOD) program.
  • Co-leading oversight of departmental and sponsored program financial, procurement, export control, and other compliance activities, and by working with multiple stakeholders to ensure effective stewardship of program resources.
  • Support faculty members in the preparation, review, and submission of research proposals.
  • Interpret and effectively communicate sponsor guidelines to ensure compliance with all requirements.
  • Budget preparation and compliance verification with sponsor regulations and Texas A&M University System Member policies.
  • Coordinate and compile proposal materials in collaboration with internal and external collaborators.
  • Ensure accurate final proposal preparation, review and submission while adhering to strict deadlines.
Desired Qualifications
  • Research Administration Certification (CRA).
  • Post-award project management experience.
  • Familiarity with Sponsored Research Services procedures.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience managing complex federal research projects.
  • Familiarity with SRS and TAMU Financial Management Operations (FMO) procedures.
  • Experience supervising professional personnel.
