- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Six months (180 days) of previous clinical experience is required.
- Ability to demonstrate telephone etiquette, communication skills, multitasking, and appropriate prioritization.
- Ability to function independently through self-direction and personal accountability.
- Ability to maintain reasonably regular and punctual attendance.
- Ability to comply with Baptist Health policies and procedures.
- Perform clerical and secretarial tasks for one or more unit personnel.
- Answer phone calls, route callers, take messages, and provide routine information to callers.
- Collaborate with the Perioperative Control Desk Liaison to coordinate surgery case-flow activities at the control desk.
- Communicate pertinent information to multidisciplinary departments about patient-care issues, schedule changes, and requested changes to the daily schedule.
- Maintain and accurately document blood products in the Blood Bank logbook.
- Coordinate and assist with special projects and perform other assigned duties.
