Requirements
  • Qualified solicitor or equivalent with solid experience and at least 5 years of experience in an in-house or law firm environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of commercial contracts.
  • Extensive experience of large, complex commercial contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, combined with a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Strong ability to assess risk, work under pressure, juggle and prioritize numerous matters, and work at speed without compromising quality.
  • Ability to cut through complex issues quickly and provide clear, commercially focused advice.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Very comfortable using and advising on technology, including artificial intelligence.
  • Flexible, collaborative, and strong team working.
  • Effective and proven ability to build client relationships and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Ability to remain resilient and vigilant in a demanding environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to articulate legal risks and challenges in a clear, understandable, and commercial way.

Responsibilities
  • Advise Publicis Media agencies in the United Kingdom on all commercial legal aspects of their business, focusing on media planning and buying services for global clients managed from the United Kingdom, as well as data and technology, partnerships, content clearance, influencer agreements, and affiliate marketing.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate media service agreements and other commercial contracts with clients, vendors, and third-party suppliers.
  • Lead the legal response to new business pitches, including coordination, drafting, and negotiation of contractual documentation.
  • Coordinate, manage, and provide legal support for multi-market agreements, including client master service agreements and global agreements with media owners.
  • Provide strategic guidance to business stakeholders on risks and challenges and collaborate on practical solutions.
  • Develop legal precedents, best practices, and processes; work with media agencies to ensure compliance with client agreements and with legal teams in other markets to advocate a consistent global approach.
  • Lead and support team initiatives to improve ways of working, efficiency, and the value of the Legal team to the business.
  • Keep up to date with current issues affecting the media and marketing industry and their implications for client contract negotiations, including industry-specific areas relating to certain clients.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the main principles of the General Data Protection Regulation, provide related data protection advice, and review and negotiate data protection agreements.
  • Deliver training to business stakeholders to ensure understanding of key legal risks, best practices, and contractual obligations.
  • Advise agencies in relation to disputes and litigation resolution, providing internal reports and overseeing outside counsel where required.
  • Train members of the Legal team on commercial legal considerations in the media agency space and related approaches, including sharing United Kingdom approaches and knowledge with legal teams in other jurisdictions.
  • Actively develop and maintain strong working relationships with media agency teams and foster a culture of excellent client service within Publicis Re:Sources, the agencies, and across Publicis Groupe.
  • Work collaboratively with the United Kingdom Legal team and legal teams in other markets to share knowledge, promote consistency, and uphold high professional standards.

Publicis Groupe has agreed to acquire LiveRamp, a global data collaboration platform, for $2.2 billion in an all-cash transaction at $38.50 per share, representing a 29.8% premium to LiveRamp's closing price on 15 May 2026. LiveRamp connects over 25,000 publisher domains and 500+ technology partners across 14 markets, enabling brands, retailers and media platforms to unify and activate data securely. The company has 1,300 employees and delivered a trailing five-year compound annual growth rate of 13%. The acquisition will position Publicis as a leader in data co-creation, enabling clients to build more intelligent AI agents by combining multiple data sources securely. Publicis has raised its 2027-2028 growth objectives to 7-8% for net revenue and 8-10% for headline earnings per share. The transaction is expected to close before year-end 2026, subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals.

Fabric Social sold to Publicis Groupe UK with revenues exceeding $17M

Mayo-born entrepreneur Niall McGarry has sold Fabric Social to Publicis Groupe UK, a division of the world's largest communications group. The company reported revenues of £13 million (€14.9 million) in the 12 months to March 2026 and employed 110 people at the time of sale. Fabric Social was profitable and served blue-chip clients in Britain including Sky, Subway EMEA, Currys, Morrisons, Just Eat, Autotrader, Holland & Barrett and Vodafone. The company also operated a smaller Irish business as a retained social agency. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Publicis acquires 160over90, declares sports marketing its 'next big bet

Publicis Groupe has acquired sports marketing agency 160over90 from WME Group for an undisclosed sum, positioning sports as its "next big bet" for growth. The deal is pending regulatory approval. Founded in 2001, 160over90 employs over 670 people across the US, UK, EMEA and APAC, working with global brands on major sporting events including the Super Bowl, Olympics and World Cup. The agency will join Publicis Sports, led by CEO Suzy Deering. Publicis is forming a partnership with WME to enable collaborations between its agencies and WME's talent roster. The acquisition follows Publicis' purchases of sports agencies Adopt and Bespoke in 2025 and creator marketing agency Influential in 2024. Publicis reported $17.18 billion in net revenue in 2025, up 5.6% year-on-year.
