Senior Software Engineer

We are looking to hire dedicated software engineers with passion towards solving tough and challenging problems for our customers. You’ll be part of the Digital Intelligence team that is responsible for building real time and distributed software solutions. The Senior Software Engineer is an unique position to help transform the way people and freight are moved around the world. You will work on innovative railroad analytic products - PTC performance dashboard and PTC Remote viewer and a bunch of tools to monitor the performance trains enabled with PTC (Positive Train Control). You will work with ASP framework and C# and ElasticSearch, Apache Kafka and relational databases. You will deploy the software on AWS and containerized environment using Docker and Kubernetes. You will build state of art user interfaces using Angular JS and HTML.

You will solve problems related to scaling and you have to build solutions to handle large volume of data. You have the opportunity to learn about railroad domain, and about how large railroad companies of the world manage the operations of freight trains.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Build innovative software solutions while collaborating with architects, product owners, test engineers and other software engineers.
• Design solutions through the process of evaluating basic technology choices and articulating tradeoffs to provide value-added products to modernize the transportation industry.
• Write high-standard code applying core data structures and algorithms to deliver software solutions for desired customer-centric functionalities in C#, ASP and using ElasticSearch, Apache Kafka and relational databases. Deploy the software on AWS and containerized environment using Docker and Kubernetes. Build state of art user interfaces using Angular JS and HTML
• Use principles of SDLC and methodologies like Agile, CI/CD with understanding and focus on quality, cybersecurity and scalability as well as refactoring and unit testing techniques.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BE/BTech/MTech in ECE /Computer Science /EEE /IT or MCA
• 6 to 10 years of experience in design & development of scalable and innovative end-to-end enterprise products and applications using technology stack comprising of Java and related technologies such as
  • C#, Asp.Net Core, Asp.Net Web Api,
  • Angular JS
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap
  • Event streaming ( Apache Kafka )
  • SQL and Relational databases (Postgres)
• Good understanding of microservices architecture.
• Experienced in building software which can be deployed on AWS or containerized environment using Docker / Kubernetes
• Hands on with Gitlab, and build tools such as npm, dotnet build framework
• Working knowledge on popular design patterns
• Experienced with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD
• Proficiency in unit and integration testing
• Good to have experience with Python/Scala
• Good to have experience with ELK stack ( ElasticSearch, LogStash, Kibana )
• The successful candidate should understand performance parameters and be able to assess application performance; collaborate with other team members through pair programming and code reviews.
