Senior Web and Optimization Manager @ Democratic National Committee (DNC)

The Democratic National Committee is seeking a Website Manager who will be responsible for optimizing the Party’s web properties, including development and maintenance of democrats.org, Action Network page templates, ActBlue page templates, and iwillvote.com. The Website Manager will report to the Supporter Outreach Director.

Responsibilities:

Implement responsive and visually appealing designs using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Build and manage dynamic web pages on Wordpress and Action Network.
Collaborate with creative and fundraising stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide technical insights.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, including bugs, performance, or deployment problems.
Test and optimize websites and applications to ensure compatibility across various browsers and platforms.
Address any rendering or performance issues that may arise.
Plan, track, and manage updates for new and existing sites.
Adhere to a standard set of web guidelines that regulate documentation, deployment, and repository maintenance.
Assist Supporter Cultivation Director with high-level projects and strategy as needed.
Other duties as assigned to support the department and the DNC’s mission.

About you (Qualifications):

You have 2+ years of front-end web development experience.
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and other front-end technologies.
Experience managing content in systems like Wordpress.
Experience using version control systems like GitHub to manage deploys into multiple environments
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preference given for anyone with:

Familiarity with online organizing platforms and/or websites such as Action Network, ActBlue, and Wordpress.
Understanding of SEO principles and accessibility standards.
Experience working in politics is a “nice to have,” not a “need to have.”

The starting salary for the Website Manager position is $80,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is not eligible for overtime wages, and is based at the DNC HQ in Washington, D.C. This is a full-time, exempt position, that may require work on weekends, and has an end date of November 15, 2024.
