Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in transition management or similar roles involving project management and change management.
  • Demonstrated experience in handling transitions across multi-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple transitions simultaneously.
  • A strong eye for detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive transition plans, including detailed timelines, resources, risk assessments, and impact analyses.
  • Define transition strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders, ensuring that transitions align with organizational goals, service continuity, and performance requirements.
  • Work closely with project managers, IT teams, and business units to understand the scope of transitions, assess risks, and plan for operational changes.
  • Manage the transition of services from project mode to operational business-as-usual BAU, ensuring all service-level agreements SLAs are met.
  • Coordinate the handover of systems, applications, or services from development or third-party vendors to internal operational teams.
  • Ensure that all operational, support, and technical requirements are documented and fulfilled before transition completion.
  • Set up necessary support structures (e.g., help desk, technical support, monitoring tools) for ongoing operations post-transition.
  • Conduct operational readiness assessments to confirm that teams, tools, and processes are prepared to support new or migrated services.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders during the transition, ensuring clear communication between teams, senior leadership, and external vendors.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams including IT, finance, HR, and operations to ensure alignment and coordination during the transition process.
  • Conduct regular progress meetings and provide updates to all relevant stakeholders, identifying potential risks or roadblocks.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure that any changes in scope or timelines are effectively communicated.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to service or operational transitions, ensuring business continuity and minimizing disruption.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans in case of unexpected issues during the transition.
  • Proactively identify potential bottlenecks or obstacles during transitions and take corrective actions where necessary.
  • Ensure all documentation and transition procedures are completed and reviewed for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Oversee post-transition stabilization, ensuring that all services are functioning as expected and that any issues are resolved quickly.
  • Monitor performance and ensure a smooth knowledge transfer to operational teams.
  • Organize post-implementation reviews and document lessons learned to improve future transition processes.
  • Lead change management efforts related to the transition, ensuring that teams are informed, trained, and equipped to handle new processes or technologies.
  • Develop and implement training programs, support structures, and documentation to help employees and teams adjust to new systems and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, change control processes, and external regulations.
Desired Qualifications
  • ITIL certification (Foundation or higher).
  • Project management certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent.
  • Experience with outsourcing, cloud migrations, or large-scale organizational transformations.
  • Familiarity with tools and technologies used for operational transitions, such as monitoring systems, ticketing systems, and support tools.
