Requirements
  • BS in Engineering, preferably electrical or computer engineering
  • 1+ years of experience developing relay settings and protection philosophies for transmission, sub transmission or distribution equipment including transmission lines, transformers, bus, breaker control, capacitor banks, distribution feeders, etc
  • 1+ years of experience in electrical engineering theories and principles
Responsibilities
  • Develop relay settings and protection philosophies for distribution equipment including transformers, bus, cb control, distribution feeders, etc.
  • Review protection and control design packages
  • Provide remote field support to the relay test engineers during installation of settings
  • Model electrical systems in power simulation programs like CAPE, ASPEN & CYME
  • Create thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, and calculations
  • Continuous improvement of job-related engineering, technical and professional knowledge, skills, and performance
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced user of Microsoft products, specifically Excel, Word, and/or Access
  • Ability to plan and manage assignments and clearly communicate barriers to complete tasks on budget/schedule
  • Use computer software tools to model engineering problems, program automation systems, prepare spreadsheet-based analyses and automation
  • Experience with developing settings for Schweitzer relays
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work remotely without supervision
  • Initiative to embrace continuous learning toward becoming an expert on the programs and technology you represent
  • Strong organizational skills
