Chiron Technology Services, Inc. currently has a Cloud Software Engineer III career opportunity in the Annapolis Junction, MD area.

Capabilities:

• Design and develop automated analytic software, techniques and algorithms
• Perform requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution
• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse Big-Data cloud systems Modify software and algorithms designed for traditional environments to operate in cloud environments
• Provide support to platforms and services based on Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other commercial cloud hosting environments
• Provide support to platforms and services running in Kubernetes Orchestration Platform
• Support the transition of operational systems and applications from traditional platforms to containerized/serverless environments
• Maintain and integrate software into Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
• Support operational systems utilizing Kubernetes Orchestration Platform
• Provide specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off- the-shelf (GOTS)

Qualifications:

• Eight (8) years of general experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
  • A bachelor’s degree  may be substituted for four (4) years of general experience.
• Shall have at least six (6) years of experience developing software with languages such as Java, C, C++
• Shall have at least four (4) years of experience with distributed scalable Big Data Store (NoSQL), such as HBase, CloudBase/Accumulo, Big Table, etc., as well as four (4) years of experience with the Map Reduce programming model, the Distributed File System (HDFS), and technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig, etc.
• Shall have demonstrated work experience with Serialization, such as JSON and/or BSON. Shall have demonstrated work experience with developing restful services and Ruby on Rails framework
• Shall have at least three (3) years of experience developing software in UNIX/Linux (Red Hat versions 3-5+) operating systems
• Shall have demonstrated work experience in the design and developmet of at least one Object Oriented system
• Shall have at least three (3) years of experience in software integration and software testing, to include developing and implementing test plans and test scripts

Desired Additional Skills:

-Experience deploying applications in a cloud environment-Understanding of Big-Data Cloud Scalability (Amazon, Google, Facebook)-Hadoop/Cloud Developer Certification-Experience designing and developing automated analytic software, techniques, and algorithms. 

-Experience developing and deploying: data driven analytics; event driven analytics; sets of analytics orchestrated through rules engines-Experience with linguistics (grammar, morphology, concepts-Experience developing and deploying analytics that discover and exploit social networks-Experience documenting ontologies, data models, schemas, formats, data element

-Experience with taxonomy construction for analytic disciplines, knowledge areas and skills
