  • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) degree
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience with maintenance/validation of patient identity data within a large-scale (10M+ entry) database
  • Strict adherence to VA rules governing access to Protected Health Information (PHI) and Electronic Protected Health Information (EPHI)
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with standard office computer applications (spreadsheet, word processor, etc.) and ability to complete in-house training programs on custom software systems
Responsibilities
  • Identify and resolve data discrepancies, anomalies, and duplicate data in the VHA Master Veteran Index
  • Use investigative methods and automated tools to resolve duplicates and exceptions
  • Perform relevant edits on patient identity fields
  • Follow established Healthcare Identity Management procedures for resolution and documentation
  • Work with medical centers, system developers, and business owners to improve the validity of Identity Management (IdM) information
  • Contribute to designing system enhancements and implementing process improvements to support identity management
  • Trained personnel performs approximately 320 resolutions per month
