The Axon business is growing rapidly and we are looking for a dedicated and proven Technical Program Manager to join our Virtual Reality team.
As a TPM on the Axon VR team, you will lead large cross functional initiatives like bringing products to market, coordinating complex software development projects, and building out automation and processes to improve delivery. You will join an interdisciplinary team that is tackling the biggest challenges in public safety training head-on, including immersive VR empathy and de-escalation training to help officers engage with the communities they serve with greater awareness and safety, less lethal weapon training, and decision making scenario based training. We seek to revolutionize how training is implemented within public safety and we seek to accomplish this while abiding to the following guiding principles:

- Empower Agencies with Data: Deliver ongoing data and analysis that provide agencies with key insights that enable them to make decisions that result in building better, more efficient, and positive programs.
- Develop an Active and Diverse Virtual Platform: Leverage the latest in VR technologies to create a robust portfolio of solutions and the highest-quality content, that enable users to be more effective in their roles and manage the challenges of 21st century public safety.
With this mission, we are looking for an experienced technical program manager who has a track record of executing and coordinating complex software deliverables across multiple teams and job roles. Sitting at the middle of product, design, content, engineering and partner teams, you should love to build relationships across a wide variety of personalities, while driving the execution of the product. You will use your technical expertise and detailed project management mindset to help identify, prioritize, and troubleshoot blockers and cross team dependencies.
What you’ll do:
Location: Remotely from USA
Reports to: Director of Product Management, AR/VR
- Own the successful on-time, on-quality delivery of major multi-deliverable initiatives for the VR organization.
- Coordinating across product managers, engineering, and design to set and drive major software deliverables and make the entire organization more effective and data-driven.
- Collaborating with Hardware, Design, Art, and Engineering program managers to ensure all deliverables are aligned and accomplished for our key program milestones.
- Tracking all major roadblocks and risks, identifying dependencies to help prioritize and parallelize work, while reporting this information up and out to the broader organization.
- Leading by example with thoroughness, clarity, detail, and care for our customers.
- Communicating regularly and effectively with our distributed teams in Seattle, Scottsdale and Remote
What you bring:
- 5+ years work experience as a software project or technical program manager. Preference towards 3d Game Development and/or VR Production.
- High degree of competency and proven success with project management including: Agile methodology, identifying and managing risks, tracking dependencies and milestones, and communicating overall project status.
- You are able to identify dependencies, mitigate risks and meet deliverables through global cross-functional teams
- Experience using JIRA.
- Experience collaborating and working closely with remote team members.
- Can create, read and understand detailed process and software architectural documentation.
- Can establish 0-1 process templates when existing standards do not exist.
- Confidence and comfort working with high degree of autonomy, in a fast-paced environment.
- You are able to learn quickly and get passionate about Virtual Reality technology and the needs of public safety.
- You resonate with Axon’s Values and believe technology can be applied to tackle public safety’s biggest challenges.

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 106,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 204,000 in the highest geographic market. The on target earnings range for this role is between USD 163,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 313,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
