What You’ll Do
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll architect and build the Data Fabric that powers mission-critical workflows. You'll work closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and data teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance services that meet the needs of our customers. You'll also leverage the latest AI tools and platforms such as Claude, Codex, and other cutting-edge AI assistants to enhance development speed, code quality, and innovation.

• Design and implement integrations with various enterprise data stores and third-party APIs

• Build and maintain event-driven data pipelines using Apache Kafka for real-time data processing

• Design and develop high-performance, scalable microservices using Java

• Architect solutions that meet strict compliance requirements (HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI DSS)

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system specifications and technical requirements

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical decision-making processes

• Build end-to-end observability using telemetry, alerts, and dashboards to ensure real-time visibility into system health and data flow

• Conduct code reviews and maintain high code quality standards

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience integrating with structured and unstructured data sources at scale

• Proven ability to design and operate microservices and multi-tenant architectures

• Deep expertise in Java and Spring, with a focus on maintainable, high-performance systems

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD pipelines

• A track record of delivering scalable, reliable APIs and backend services in production

• Experience working in data-centric or platform environments where data movement, transformation, and reliability are first-class concerns

Bonus Points

• Experience designing or implementing data transformation and normalization layers

• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and data pipelines

We are a hybrid workforce with key hubs in Denver, Fishers (Indiana), Los Angeles, Toronto, and Krakow, Poland. While some roles offer flexibility in location, others may require proximity to one of our hubs. Wherever you’re based, our approach is built on trust, collaboration, and doing what works best for our people and the business.

Salary Range
$160,000 - $180,000 CAD. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
