Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required
  • 1-3 years related work experience required
  • License Registered Nurse required
  • American Heart Association – Basic Life Support Certificate required
  • Physical requirements: medium work and ability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and standing/walking for long periods
Responsibilities
  • Provides direct care to patients and makes necessary nursing judgments; systematically assesses health care needs of individuals or groups and formulates a care plan, implements it, and evaluates outcomes
  • Coordinates the care of patients and directs assistive personnel to provide safe, effective, efficient, and timely patient-centered care; identifies resources needed to implement the plan of care
  • Works in a collegial and collaborative relationship with other health professionals; develops relationships with patients and families and communicates effectively; acts as a patient advocate
  • Maintains annual mandatory education requirements including emergency skills and unit-based competencies; identifies needs for continued growth and development; may participate in quality improvement activities
  • Demonstrates commitment to patients, staff, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center; reflects the goals of the Medical Center; demonstrates responsibility and accountability for own nursing practice and patient safety
