  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering or a directly related field, plus two years of experience developing high-quality firmware for medical devices; and two years of experience with firmware release management.
  • Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering or a directly related field, plus four years of experience developing high-quality firmware for medical devices; and four years of experience with firmware release management.
Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of firmware engineers to ensure the development, testing, and release of high-quality firmware for medical devices.
  • Set clear objectives, prioritize tasks, and provide guidance to team members.
  • Establish and enforce firmware development best practices to maintain code quality and reliability.
  • Develop and implement firmware testing strategies, including unit testing, integration testing, and system testing.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 13485, IEC 62304).
  • Manage the release process for firmware updates, ensuring timely and efficient releases.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for firmware development and testing activities.
  • Utilize version control systems (e.g., Git) to manage firmware source code and track changes.
  • Report progress and issues to upper management and collaborate with other teams.
  • Supervise 1-2 Firmware Quality Assurance Engineers.
