Requirements
  • A Master's degree or higher and licensure in Minnesota as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, or Licensed Psychologist are required.
  • The candidate must have clinical mental health experience with a variety of ages and clinical presentations.
  • The candidate must be able to qualify for company-paid malpractice insurance.
  • The candidate must communicate effectively and efficiently in written and verbal form.
  • The candidate must smoothly and rapidly shift between dissimilar tasks.
  • The candidate must react quickly and calmly as part of a team to handle volatile and potentially emergency situations.
  • The candidate must make effective decisions in stressful situations and circumstances.
  • After training, the candidate must be able to support management of disruptive and explosive patients.
  • The candidate must understand regulatory standards governing care delivery and operations.
  • Coverage therapists must be able and willing to provide therapy services collaboratively across varied treatment approaches, populations, and treatment teams.

Responsibilities
  • Provide process group therapy, family therapy, and individual therapy for assigned patients as appropriate to the role.
  • Work with children, adolescents, and adults with mental illness, or a combination of these populations, as assigned and appropriate to the setting and position.
  • Collaboratively develop and assign treatment goals and interventions.
  • Coordinate care with providers outside the treatment team upon admission and discharge when relevant and appropriate.
  • Provide collaborative coverage for other therapists across treatment teams, settings, and levels of care when assigned.
  • Contribute the perspective of the therapist's unique training and a clinical lens to the interdisciplinary team and support staff from other disciplines.
  • Participate in case conferences and treatment team rounds.
  • Attend training seminars, group supervision, and regular staff meetings as appropriate.
  • Maintain clinical records in compliance with PrairieCare policies and regulatory standards.
  • Support quality assurance and peer review activities as assigned.
  • Maintain professional and collaborative relationships with colleagues in the program and across PrairieCare.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client medical records according to policy and HIPAA rules.
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely billing records according to policy and program requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with program policies, external regulatory standards, and payer requirements.
  • Support treatment teams during holds and restraints processes when required for patient safety, following provided training.
  • Support new employee hiring and onboarding by participating in selection committees and providing training and education as delegated or assigned.
  • PRN therapists cover planned and unplanned staff absences and work at least four shifts per month when applicable.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in intensive psychiatric healthcare settings is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with a variety of ages and clinical presentations in clinical mental health is preferred.
