Position Purpose:
The Senior Business Analyst works with the Home Depot Installation Services team in the evaluation, design, development and implementation of standardized reporting and business processes. The Senior Business Analyst leverages proven technical abilities to synthesize complex analytical tasks into easily understood data-driven stories. This individual will act as a strategic thought partner on category strategy and will work collaboratively to create new analytical processes on diverse datasets to solve issues facing the business. The Senior Business Analyst also continually seeks out opportunities to learn new and hone existing technical skills (e.g. writing SQL/code, statistics, etc.)
Key Responsibilities:
- 50% Lead all phases of a project’s life cycle including defining the business need, establishing criteria and business requirements, understanding the impact to the business and designing and rolling out the project
- 25% Serve as a subject matter expert and perform research and/or analysis within assigned projects or category of business
- 25% Establish and report on metrics of assigned projects or categories to gauge business value

- No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the technical leadership of a project work team: may select team members and assess capabilities, provide technical training, provide information necessary to meet work, project or program objectives, evaluate program or project performance.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job
- Prior experience in business analytics, planning and analysis, merchandising
- Skilled in SQL data manipulation and analysis; experience utilizing CTEs, aggregate functions, and joining relational tables together, etc.
- Experience building reports/analyses with analytical tools i.e Tableau, Excel, PowerPoint
- Demonstrated experience using advanced Excel functions to support data analytics
- Proven track record utilizing data-driven storytelling to engage audiences of all levels
- Strong communication skills including the ability to effectively articulate viewpoint to executive leadership and ability to write compelling executive level presentations
- Strong analytical skills including demonstrated aptitude with financial analysis and ability to generate insight from large and complex data sets
- The ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
