Requirements
  • Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of the Hazardous Materials Information System.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions and labels, particularly those concerning cleaning chemicals and products.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Top Secret clearance and SCI eligibility are required.
  • At least one year of custodial experience within the last three years, including floor-care stripping, waxing, and buffing.
  • A valid driver's license compliant with the REAL ID Act, or willingness and ability to obtain one.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Regular, dependable attendance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain access to military installations.
  • Ability to carry, push, pull, and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to grasp or handle objects, bend elbows and knees, and reach above the shoulders.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness of communal spaces, restrooms, workspaces, and outside areas as assigned.
  • Mop tile and concrete floors and vacuum carpeted areas.
  • Sweep, dust, scrub, wax, buff, and strip floors as necessary.
  • Clean and disinfect restrooms, including urinals, toilets, toilet seats, sinks, mirrors, fixtures, hand dryers, floors, walls, showers, and locker rooms.
  • Clean and disinfect breakroom and kitchen tables, sinks, counters, and refrigerators.
  • Empty waste baskets and interior and perimeter garbage cans and place garbage in outside storage bins.
  • Dust furniture, equipment, blinds, and light fixtures.
  • Clean mirrors and interior window surfaces and surrounding areas.
  • Clean entrances and exits, remove finger marks from glass, doors, walls, and hardware, and keep outside areas clear of debris.
  • Clean and disinfect drinking fountains.
  • Report damage and vandalism and report or perform minor maintenance repairs.
  • Use cleaning equipment including electric floor buffers, commercial vacuums, wet mops, large wringers, and other necessary equipment, tools, and supplies.
  • Refill hand soap and paper-towel dispensers and restock toilet paper as needed.
  • Mix and use cleaning chemicals and products according to instructions.
  • Store cleaning materials and supplies safely and orderly and maintain an adequate supply.
  • Move or relocate furniture.
  • Comply with established general and industrial safety rules and regulations applicable to the contract, facility, and job assignment.
  • Perform other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
