Requirements
  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in either engineering, science, or manufacturing processes
  • 10+ years’ industry experience in a manufacturing field with at least 5 years in a supplier quality engineering role
  • Technical background and experience with aerospace commodities like avionics, electronics, and PCB assembly practices
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time and have a valid driver’s license
  • Quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Self-initiation and excellent time management skills
  • Competency to stay closely connected to leadership structure and operational customers while working remotely
Responsibilities
  • Establish a robust, objective, documented supplier qualification process
  • Evaluate suitability and stability of current and potential mechanical, avionics, and electrical equipment suppliers regarding quality and technical capability
  • Lead suppliers through resolving discrepancies, including corrective and preventive actions as well as recovery plans
  • Implement an approach to minimize the risk taken when the company transfers work to external vendors
  • Support program reviews with key suppliers to ensure understanding of long-term business objectives
  • Communicate supplier performance to senior management
  • Participate in supplier pre-ship reviews, quality audits, hardware acceptance and corrective actions
  • Focus on nonconformance reduction activities
  • Perform source inspection activities at supplier locations as needed
  • Foster relationships with existing and potential suppliers with regular communication
