Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited program is required.
  • At least 2 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting is required.
  • An active Registered Nurse license in the State of Ohio is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required.
  • All required credentials must be maintained in good standing throughout employment.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in acute care nursing is required.
  • The ability to prioritize, coordinate, and delegate tasks effectively is required.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems is required.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are required.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards is required.
  • The ability to facilitate team collaboration and staff development is required.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate daily nursing care activities to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care in accordance with established protocols and standards.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and role model for nursing staff, providing guidance, support, and informal training as needed.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Monitor patient care delivery and intervene or escalate concerns to appropriate leaders to ensure quality and safety.
  • Assist with staff scheduling, assignments, and workload distribution based on patient acuity and staffing resources.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, data collection, and implementation of best practices to enhance care delivery.
  • Support orientation and onboarding of new staff, and contribute to ongoing staff development activities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational policies, including infection control, HIPAA, and safety standards.
  • Document patient care and unit activities accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
  • Identify and address operational or clinical issues, escalating unresolved matters to appropriate leadership.
  • Foster a positive work environment that supports teamwork, professional growth, and adherence to organizational values.
  • Guide and support nursing staff in daily clinical operations.
  • Facilitate team communication and conflict resolution.
  • Champion quality and safety initiatives within the unit.
  • Provide informal feedback and contribute to peer evaluations.
  • Support staff development and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Master of Science in Nursing or a related healthcare field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a charge, lead, or supervisory nursing role is preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification is preferred.
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse certification or another specialty certification is preferred.
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record software is preferred.
