Detroit Defense is seeking an experienced Accounting Administrator in our Troy, MI office. This Accounting Administrator provides essential support to the finance and accounting department by managing day-to-day administrative tasks, processing financial transactions, and maintaining accurate records. This Accounting Administrator role ensures smooth operations within the accounting team and assists in maintaining compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process and record accounts payable transactions.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Maintain vendor files ensuring all documentation is complete and up to date.
• Process expense reports.
• Coordinate with other departments and vendors to obtain necessary financial documentation and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with financial reporting and audit preparations as needed.
• Manage filing systems for financial documents, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Perform general administrative tasks such as data entry, answering inquiries, and supporting the accounting team’s workflow.
• Help implement and improve accounting procedures and internal controls.

Requirements

• A bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Accounting or other relevant field.
• Must be able to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance.
• A minimum of five years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
