  • Possesses an earned master's or higher degree in speech or communication from a regionally accredited institution, or an earned master's or higher degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in speech or communication from a regionally accredited institution.
  • For COMM 101, possesses an earned master's degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in a discipline related to the course, such as rhetoric, linguistics, homiletics, law, theatre, or public relations, unless the Communication discipline standard is met.
  • For COMM 102, possesses an earned master's degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in a discipline related to the course, such as social work, counseling, sociology, or psychology, unless the Communication discipline standard is met.
  • For COMM 201, possesses an earned master's degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in a discipline related to the course, such as public relations, journalism, marketing, advertising, or telecommunications, unless the Communication discipline standard is met.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
  • Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
  • Supplement and alter, where appropriate, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
  • Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
  • Engage with students proactively and regularly in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
  • Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning.
  • Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner while complying with College policies, guidelines, and expectations.
