Requirements
  • High school graduation or equivalent GED plus 3-5 years of experience in the construction trades.
  • Inspection-related certifications, including a required Certified Welding Inspector certification.
  • Ability to use inspection tools such as a Gal-Gauge, Pick Gauge, Hi-Lo Gauge, and Filler Gauge.
  • Ability to read and interpret ISO drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and red-line ISO drawings.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings and technical procedures.
  • Required exposure to civil, electrical, mechanical, pipeline, oil and gas, industrial, and welding activities.
  • Ability to independently perform piping system walkdowns, structural walkdowns, and civil inspections.
  • Ability to write daily reports and document project activities.
  • Ability to collect and record field data accurately to ensure activities conform to corporate quality control procedures and effectively implement the quality control program for assigned project tasks.
  • Ability to solve problems individually and in a team setting.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk the property and laydown yards, and carry up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Promote and comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Inspect and ensure the quality of daily construction work on a 12-mile pipeline project, including excavations, concrete, rebar, photovoltaic installation, underground utilities, welding, piping, valves, and other equipment.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the construction codes used for the project.
  • Demonstrate good organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
  • Conduct daily activities in an organized manner so that quality-control data are properly and accurately recorded.
  • Monitor and record daily work as required by the Quality Inspection Test Plan.
  • Prevent deficiencies through pre-construction quality-control inspections while working with field operating teams.
  • Detect deficiencies and address them in a timely and effective manner.
  • Inspect work and establish punch lists.
  • Ensure daily quality-task schedules are met to support the project schedule.
  • Work closely with the client and field quality staff as their field representative to ensure construction personnel understand and follow quality-assurance and quality-control requirements.
  • Interface with field supervision to maintain open communication.
  • Interact cross-functionally with craft personnel and other team members.
  • Maintain complete and accurate inspection records for transfer to permanent hard-copy or electronic files.
  • Determine the calibration status of measuring and test equipment.
