As a Software Update Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless integration of software updates into control units prior to installation in our Chattanooga assembly plant. You will be responsible for setting up and monitoring flash stations, providing valuable insights on capacity and efficiency, as well as analyzing errors and quickly introduce countermeasures. This position requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
Install and configure flash stations for control units according to specified guidelines (Hardware, Software, adapter, tools, label printer, design and build adapters, etc.).
Create Software update macros and write environmental simulations for part updates.
Conduct thorough testing of software updates to validate functionality and performance.
Write work instructions for software updates and publish them for 3rd party support staff.
Create and organize mobile kits that can be taken to offsite supplier warehouses.
Coordinate with vehicle project coordinators to ensure flash stations are available and ready for actions when needed at offsite supplier warehouses.
Monitor the software update process to ensure timely and accurate implementation.
Analyze and assess the capacity of flash stations to meet production demands.
Provide regular updates on station capacity and efficiency to relevant stakeholders.
Propose and implement improvements to optimize the overall update process and increase throughput.
Maintain detailed records of software update activities, including configurations, testing results, and issue resolutions.
Provide requested data to support creation of comprehensive reports on station performance, capacity utilization, and update success rates.
Ensure ESD protection requirements are followed.
Organize supplies and keep up stock.
Required:
English fluent - verbal and written
Experience in vehicle electric and electronic(minimum 2 years)
Knowledge in MS office (Excel and PowerPoint)
Preferred:
Experience with Python coding language
Ability to read and understand wire harness diagrams
Experience with Automotive Manufacturing Process.
