Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree with 0–2 years of experience, or equivalent experience.
  • The ability to pass a government Tier 2 Moderate Background Investigation.
  • Experience in a large asset-management and logistics environment.
  • Moderate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and proficiency with Excel spreadsheets.
  • Moderate proficiency using a ticketing system.
  • The ability to install, remove, and transport server equipment, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • A general technical understanding of network equipment, network functions, and data center operations.
  • The ability to follow schematics to coordinate proper hardware installation for networking devices.
  • Good writing and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
  • Participate as required in support projects of major scope and complexity.
  • Advise the VA Network and Security Operations Center on logistics operations.
  • Develop logistics methods and procedures for asset control, inventory management, and accountability.
  • Oversee the coordination, determination, redistribution, and implementation of tactical standard operating procedures for reutilization and disposal of excess information-technology equipment.
  • Manage Moves, Adds, and Changes tickets through ServiceNow.
  • Ship and receive assets.
  • Perform annual audits and inventories of all information-technology assets within the VA Network and Security Operations Center.
  • Adapt to and use enterprise resource planning systems to create and modify configuration items.
  • Monitor all information-technology assets from procurement through disposition for compliance with VA policies.
  • Install, remove, and transport server equipment.
  • Determine logistics support sequences and time phasing.
