Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field, or a similar combination of education and directly related work experience.
  • A valid Connecticut driver's license.
Responsibilities
  • Provide customer-driven family development services focused on identifying long-term family goals and objectives.
  • Assist families in assessing their needs and strengths, coordinate eligible program services, and support families in advocating for themselves with educational institutions, social service agencies, and the business community.
  • Implement a system to track progress toward established family goals.
  • Coordinate family enrollment in social service programming supporting family goals, including application assistance or review and authorization of direct benefit payments when applicable.
  • Encourage families to develop their strengths by identifying and practicing needed skills.
  • Develop and deliver workshops and training sessions that help families develop and strengthen needed skills.
  • Conduct home visits and case conferences with families to assess the entire family situation.
  • Advocate for and with families before agencies, schools, and businesses interacting with them.
  • Implement file recordkeeping and customer confidentiality procedures.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly data reports for funding sources and other agencies as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two to three years of experience in direct service, financial education services, or curriculum training.
  • Bilingual ability.
