Requirements
  • Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear Engineering or closely related and 5+ years of nuclear engineering experience
  • Citizenship – United States citizen due to the federal nature of the work
  • Clearance – active or very recently active DOE “Q” Clearance or DoD “Top Secret” Clearance
  • Experience in the application of DOE rules, guides, orders, standards, and handbooks including 10CFR 830, Nuclear Safety Management is required.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, revise, and review Nuclear Criticality Safety (NCS) documentation such as Criticality Safety Evaluations (CSEs), Nuclear Criticality Safety Determinations (NCSDs), Technical Deviations (TDs), and various other NCS technical basis documentation.
  • Complete the annually required NCS Operational Reviews as needed.
  • Provide daily nuclear facility support as needed.
  • Perform facility walkdowns.
  • Review NCS requirements and adhere.
  • Implement documents.
  • Participate at facility Operational Safety Boards among others.
  • Provide additional needed support to accomplish the increased mission needs of the NCS Engineering group.
