Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- At least 3 years of experience in the wind industry, including a minimum of 2 years of managerial experience, is required.
- A valid non-commercial driver's license or commercial driver's license is required.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills are required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and follow safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals is required.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision after receiving proper instructions is required.
- Ability to deal with problems involving at least one concrete variable in standardized situations is required.
- Ability to pass a physical exam and drug and alcohol screening is required.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds is required.
- Ability to free climb 300 feet multiple times a day while wearing 25 or more pounds of climbing gear and work in extreme weather conditions is required.
- Ability to rescue a teammate anywhere in a tower during an emergency is required.
- Employees climbing wind turbines must use a Personal Fall Arrest System and comply with its maximum weight capacity of 309 pounds, including the individual, tools, uniform, and personal protective equipment; personal body weight may not exceed 260 pounds based on standard equipment weight.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Specialized Field Services team of traveling technicians across various United States locations.
- Oversee a portion of the Specialized Field Services profit and loss statement and ensure the team meets its financial targets and objectives.
- Develop and submit time and materials proposals for customers requiring service work.
- Enhance employee performance through recognition, constructive feedback, performance reviews, and corrective action when necessary.
- Mentor and guide employees to maximize their performance and professional growth.
- Create strategies to ensure timely completion of service work and fulfillment of customer commitments.
- Collaborate with the Business Development team to drive growth and optimize resource allocation for projects.
- Streamline and improve operational processes to increase efficiency.
- Maintain communication with project leads, site supervisors, field technicians, and engineers, providing daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Manage additional projects or programs as needed.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Specialized Field Services customer inquiries and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Oversee and manage subcontractors and partner contractors to ensure successful execution of assigned projects.
- Supervise management of resources, warehouse locations, and assigned projects to ensure efficient operations.
- Review and approve expense reports and timesheets for direct reports.
- Ensure work-related documentation, including Service Orders, is accurately completed using the DPMS Fast Field system.
- Provide operational, quality, and engineering support as required.
- Ensure timely invoicing to customers for completed work.
- Uphold compliance with Deutsche Windtechnik policies and programs related to safety, quality, and documentation practices.
- Ensure Specialized Field Services teams deliver preventative and corrective maintenance on assigned multi-brand wind turbines in accordance with Deutsche Windtechnik procedures.
