Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of orthodontic or equivalent experience is required.
  • Previous sales experience and comfort discussing costs and payment plans with patients are required.
  • Candidates must be responsive to patients, including following up and answering questions.
  • Computer proficiency, including comfort with the Microsoft Office Suite, is required.
  • Candidates must understand and effectively communicate techniques used in the orthodontic field.
  • Candidates must effectively communicate and exchange information with patients, parents, clinicians, and staff.
  • Candidates must operate a computer, keyboard, and standard office equipment.
  • Candidates must lift or carry up to 30 pounds and be able to twist, turn, bend, and stoop.
Responsibilities
  • Obtain high treatment acceptance by explaining treatment costs, insurance coverage, and financing options.
  • Explain treatment plans and timelines to patients and families in clear, simple terms, address concerns, and answer questions.
  • Present financing options, assist patients with affording care, educate them on insurance coverage and payment options, ensure timely payment collection, and manage outstanding balances.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments.
  • Maintain detailed patient records, including medical history and treatment in progress.
  • Submit paperwork to insurance providers.
  • Operate X-ray machines and assist with clinical tasks when required, if certified.
  • Solicit referrals from patients after treatment and track satisfaction with the work provided.
  • Adhere to government regulations, company standards, and company compliance programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work hours may change to meet business needs, and extended hours may be required during peak periods.
Desired Qualifications
  • Treatment Coordinator work experience in a dental practice, ideally with 3 or more years of experience in a dental or orthodontic environment and knowledge of orthodontic treatments.
  • Three or more years of sales or customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of dental insurance, payment financing, and self-pay collections.
  • X-ray certification and CPR certification.
  • Bilingual ability, with Spanish as a plus.
