- A Class A hazardous materials license, a clean driving record, and a valid medical card are required.
- The driver must be eligible to operate out-of-state routes.
- The driver must pass the seven-year FADV review in the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
- Six months of experience driving tractor trailers and/or straight trucks is required.
- Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations is required.
- Experience operating straight trucks and tractor trailers up to 26 and 53 feet long is required.
- Experience with Department of Transportation compliance, logging hours, and roadside inspections is required.
- The driver must be confident with Level 1 through Level 3 road checks.
- The driver must be able to perform heavy lifting.
- The driver must be available for full-time work of approximately 40 hours per week and for permanent employment.
- The driver must demonstrate customer service skills and a strong customer focus.
- The driver must be able to complete on-time deliveries and communicate changes or challenges clearly.
- The driver must have a history of longevity in past employment.
- Drive over the road for trips lasting up to 10 days.
- Safely collect, deliver, and store medical waste containers at customer locations.
- Provide customer service and build positive customer relationships.
- Perform drop-and-hook operations with minimal live unloading.
- Operate straight trucks and tractor trailers safely.
- Complete deliveries according to schedule and communicate changes or challenges as they arise.
- Load and unload materials while prioritizing and organizing the truck according to the schedule and service needs.
- Manage assigned routes according to leadership direction and deliver timely, efficient, and effective service.
- Sleep in a sleeper tractor during over-the-road routes.
- Comply with Department of Transportation regulations, log hours, and complete roadside inspections.
- A flexible, can-do attitude.
