Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.
  • 10+ years in environmental management within the oil and gas industry, with a focus on emissions, sustainability, spills and soil management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations.
  • Experience developing and executing sustainability and ESG strategies within a corporate setting.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and collaborate across departments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead Diamondback Energy’s environmental strategy, focusing on emissions reduction, sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Lead corporate GHG emissions tracking, reporting, and reduction initiatives.
  • Develop and implement methane emissions reduction strategies, including flaring and venting minimization programs.
  • Develop continued spills reduction strategies and work with the Integrated Operations Control center to implement further actions.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to improve emissions monitoring and reporting accuracy.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives, including carbon footprint reduction, renewable energy integration, and water conservation efforts.
  • Engage with industry groups, governmental agencies, and non-profits to stay ahead of regulatory and technological trends in sustainability.
  • Represent Diamondback Energy in regulatory meetings, industry conferences, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Work cross-functionally with operations, legal, finance, and investor relations teams to align environmental strategies with corporate goals.
  • Develop and track key spills reduction metrics, including trend analysis, and share reactive and proactive strategies with Operations personnel.
  • Lead a team of environmental professionals in both office and field locations, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility.
