Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Educational Development certificate.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- A valid New Mexico Level 1 Water Certification is required.
- 1+ years of experience operating water or wastewater treatment plants.
Responsibilities
- Operates, maintains and performs minor repairs on water production, treatment and distribution systems.
- Installs operates and repairs water distribution and collection systems including mains, service lines, fire hydrants, water valves, PRVs and water meters.
- Reads and monitors gauges, meters and control panels.
- Starts and stops equipment and operates valves to route and control flow.
- Learns and gains skills involving the maintenance of equipment and servicing work in the plant.
- Operates treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water production and distribution system.
- Observes and reports abnormalities to supervisor.
- Maintains shift log and records meter and gauge readings.
- Collects samples and performs routine laboratory tests and analyses.
- Performs routine maintenance functions and custodial duties.
- Ability and willingness to work on-call shifts, as requested, including being fit and able to respond to call-ins in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as required.
